Ecco the Dolphin the amusement ride? It's not as crazy as you'd think, unfortunately I am not referring to an Ecco ride exactly. The ride I'm referring to is called Seafari a four minute ride in an interactive theater. People take a seat as they are greeted by a small CGI dolphin. The whole film experience tries to convince it's audience they are in some sort of advanced submarine. The small dolphin wears a harness on it's back with a small flash light, acting as a guide for the audience in the "submarine".

Seafari is apart of a series of rides called Sea Odyssey, what makes this particular ride interesting is the amount of Ecco elements it draws from. This brings up a great question to if Seafari was inspired from Ecco, Defender of the Future, or visa-versa. What makes this ride Ecco-like is the little dolphin, who wears a yellow harness similar to the harness Ecco wears in the Man's Nightmare world. As the audience follows this small dolphin, they are forced to watch helplessly as he tries to escape a giant monstrous eel. The eel of the video brings up memories of the eel Ecco had to escape in Roaring Forces.

I haven't had the honor of experiencing Seafari, even though there are Seafari rides all over the world. I watched the ride through a YouTube video , I could almost feel the experience the audience had taking the ride. It is similar to a roller coaster, except the only thing that's actually moving is the seats of the theater. As people are immense in the video they forget they are on a stationary platform, that simulates the movements of the films screen. This may not be an Ecco the Dolphin amusement ride but it's pretty close.
