A new video has popped up on YouTube showcasing the elusive Ecco the Dolphin for Sega Saturn. The video was used to promote the Sega Saturn console, it features a dolphin (presumably Ecco) saving a group of dolphins who are trapped in a collapsed cave. The video begins with Ecco communicating with another dolphin, he proceeds toward a collapsed cave and begins to swim in a circle, forming a whirlpool that clears away rocks surrounding the cave entrance. Ecco continues into the cave where he finds three dolphins whom he swims to safety by leading them out of the cave and upward toward the surface. The video ends abruptly with the dolphins leaping into the air doing various flips.
In between the Ecco the Dolphin video sequence are clips of the Japanese Sega Saturn console. A man speaking in presumably Japanese, talks about the Sega Saturn's different hardware and software features. Although the Sega Saturn could produce three dimensional objects, it was not capable of producing the dolphin models featured in the Ecco the Dolphin video. The dolphin models would later be used for the videos featured in Ecco the Dolphin 2 for Sega CD.

The Sega Saturn Ecco the Dolphin video may have been used to promote the idea of an Ecco the Dolphin for Sega Saturn. The original video could not have been any longer than the featured YouTube video, it does not show anything new compared to the various other articles on the same subject matter. What makes this video interesting is that it is longer and it pieces together clips that previously only existed in magazine snippets.
