Sebastion of Caverns of Hope released an Ecco ROM viewer years ago that vanished into the tides of time - until now. Whats brilliant about it is its ability to work with prototypes that didn't even exist when the viewer was created.
The viewer can display color palettes, images, sprites and patterns. It even has tweaking functions to fine tune its searching algorithm. If you open the Ecco 1 and Ecco 2 ROMs, you will find one or two hidden objects not even in the game!
The best feature is the programs ability to zoom in on objects and save them to bitmap. If the program could generate level maps and save them this would have to be one of the best programs out there.
