It didn't take long for Tails to inform me that the Ecco 2 X11 is not the only version of Ecco 2 that has the special "Billiard" sonar ability. Don't believe me try it for yourself, enter the PAR code FF157A:0175 into an emulator of your choice and go to the level Vents of Medusa.
At the very very top left corner of the screen is an invisible object, you must jump out of the water and bounce over the rocks to get it. You know you'll have it when your sonar flies half way across the level and boomerangs back. You must enable the charge sonar cheat in the cheat menu and hit the CHARGE+SONAR button for it to simultaneously kill enemies.
Tails discovered the object using save states and created a code to alter a collision object in Vents of Medusa to help enable this ability. The code is just to show that it can be done, hopefully one day someone will find the portion of memory that enables whatever makes this ability work.
The billiard ability was taken out of the final when it became a hassle to debug the many possible problems associated with it. Problems that could arise is the ability to properly use the sonar map, communication with Dolphins and Glyphs and placement of mirrors so the object doesn't fly across the entire level. Otherwise it may of been taken out because there was not a lot of time to make it applicable to levels in the game so it was replaced with the 360 sonar ability.
